Addio al Warsaw Guitar Festival

L'amico Ermanno Brignolo​ ci fa sapere che il Warsaw Guitar Festival ha cessato di esistere. Le motivazioni sono sempre le stesse e condivido il suo sfogo perché, nell'amarezza, è un invito a cercare di cambiare le cose.

 

"Personally, I am sick of stale programs with the same old hits layed the same old way (or maybe differently: nothing changes) while tons of pages lay undisclosed under thick layers of dust and oblivion. I am sick of the need to program Aranjuez each single fuckin' time an orchestra is involved with the guitar. I am sick of festivals with NO artistic direction but an exchange of favours (and money) that grow and suck funds whereas serious artistic directors are forced to shut their activity because a Grammy today has the same value than a Prix de Rome yesterday. I am sick of musical circuses aimed to make the public smile and laugh and thus presenting nothing but crappy music seasoned with jokes, entertainment and amusements. I am sick of guitarists complaining because (and naïvely wondering why...!) their damned instrument is not listed in the chamber music seasons.

 

Each one of us has to (must!) feel responsible for this situation and DO something to revert this trend. We could not afford the closure of the Warsaw Guitar Festival; definitely, we cannot allow such a thing to happen again."

L'amarezza nell'apprendere questa notizia è resa più grave dalla natura del festival stesso: era un festival dedicato esplicitamente al repertorio trascurato per chitarra orchestra. Se da un lato questa caratteristica, abbinata alle leggi di mercato, potrebbe far passare la notizia come la cronaca di una morte annunciata, dall'altro ci fa capire quanto becere siano proprio quelle leggi di mercato e - ancor più - quanto siano importanti le scelte che onguno di noi, con la propria attività, opera: decidere di optare per una pagina meno conosciuta, di esplorare anfratti inediti del repertorio - invece di ricalcare le orme di altre centinaia di interpreti, spesso anche dal punto di vista agogico - è sicuramente un rischio, ma diventa necessario per la sopravvivenza della musica stessa.

 

Spero che il sasso non cada fuori dallo stagno.

questo è come un taglio fisico,e fa sempre male. Era un festival, è sempre una cosa brutta da leggere. Tutta la mia solidarietà(anche se non conta nulla).
